Message of Peace: An Exhibition from the Cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Lehman College Art Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition that clearly demonstrates the importance of world peace and the crucial role of history and memory in our understanding. The exhibition “Message of Peace,” organized by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, will help everyone who sees it comprehend the inhuman devastation caused by nuclear weapons.
We are especially grateful to our friends and colleagues at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum for bringing “Message of Peace” to the Lehman College Art Gallery. The photographs and artifacts in this powerful exhibition bear witness to the conviction that we must do all we can to ensure a nuclear-free future of our children and grandchildren.
It is our hope that this exhibition we will come to appreciate the tremendous courage of the citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We have learned from history — and will continue to learn — that cooperation and tolerance are the true vehicles to peace.
