Contemporary Views
of the Built Environment
The City: Contemporary Views of the Built Environment explores the notion of the city as a locus for utopian dreams and shared histories. It represents a second part to the earlier landscape exhibit, Images of Time and Place. The City examines work in a broad range of media—painting, drawings, photography, video, and installation—and explores innovative approaches to the traditional genre of the “cityscape.” It is being presented in the Edith Altschul Lehman wing and the Robert Lehman wing of the Lehman College Art Gallery. In conjunction with the exhibition there will be both an on-line and print catalogue. The exhibition is curated by Nina Sundell and Susan Hoeltzel.
