Guillo Pérez

Lehman College Art Gallery presents GUILLO PEREZ: HOMAGE TO THE PRE-COLUMBIAN CULTURES OF THE AMERICAS. Guillo Perez, the distinguished senior painters from the Dominican Republic, was born in the city of Moca and studied painting at the Escuela de
Bellas Artes de Santiago de los Caballeros. He has exhibited internationally, including exhibitions in the United States, Mexico, Japan, and Israel.

The exhibition includes a new body of abstract paintings  based on the traditional images of the Taino Indian civilizations of the Caribbean. These works were created by Mr. Perez for a traveling exhibition for the 1992 Quincentennial of Columbus landing in the New World.
