  Vodou Rituals in Haiti

Island Possessed–Vodou Rituals in Haiti is an intimate photographic exploration documenting the contemporary practice of Vodou in Haiti. Vodou, a syncretic religion incorporating West African religious traditions within Catholicism, is practiced by thousands of Haitians. Seymour has approached this project as an insider who has documented major celebrations and ritual sites in an attempt to create a better understanding of the practice and dispel misconceptions. The work in this exhibition is a part of his ongoing documentary project.
